In PAUD Super5 Laowi South Nias, Megawati Harefa Becomes a Hero for Children with Special Needs

In celebration of CBN's 23rd Anniversary, we gave awards to twenty-three teachers who have tried and dedicated to child discipleship throughout Indonesia, through the Super5, Superbook, and School of Life programs.
The following is the story of one of the teachers of PAUD Super5 BNKP Laowi Congregation from South Nias, named Megawati Harefa. Of all the students in her ECCE, some of them are children with special needs.
As a newly established ECCE, she and her team of teachers certainly do not yet have the experience to deal with children with special needs. But the longing she had for these children to enjoy the same access to education as other children, made her still accept these children with special needs with open arms.
Unexpectedly, they can face this challenge too. Thanks to the training of the Super5 team, she and the teachers were trained on how to educate and understand each child's character, both normal children and children with special needs.
There was no high expectation she placed on these children with special needs. For her, if these children can get an education like other children, it will be enough! She only hopes that PAUD Super5 BNKP Laowi Congregation can continue to be a blessing for children with special needs in her area.
