The collaboration between the CBN and Obor Berkat Indonesia (OBI) in the program of providing business capital to parents of students engaging in Superbook and School of Life (SOL) discipleship has greatly helped the family's economy.
Jefri Simangunsong, the parents of Superbook kids Kevin (7 years) and Tasia (4 years), was one of the families who received venture capital help. Every day, Mr. Jefri works as a used goods collector in his village of Sri Meranti, Pekanbaru, Riau. With only an elementary education, that was the only job he could find to support his two children. Pak Jefri wanted help getting a better job, especially after his wife died.
Mr. Jepri's ability to carry out this rubbish-collecting work is hampered by a lack of capital. Used products such as televisions, newspapers, books, plastic bottles, cardboard, and so on, which he typically purchases from residents, have widely varying costs that are determined by the agreement and the weight of the goods.
Mr. Jepri's wish was granted thanks to the CBN and OBI program that provides business funding. He was chosen as one of the beneficiaries and received some money. Not only that, but he also provided a larger scale to support the work.
'I am very grateful and grateful to OBI, because thanks to the financial assistance that OBI provided, I was able to assist me in purchasing used goods from residents. Through this business capital from OBI, I was able to overcome the obstacles that I had experienced so far. 'In addition, the new scales that were given to me are bigger and easier to use, making my work easier,' said Pak Jefri.
With this venture capital, he hopes to expand the waste collection service into a collection warehouse, helping the economy to improve.
