Excitedly, Reven dared to mention the memorized verse in front of his friends during Sunday school. Even last year he dared to perform poems impassionedly and make him the winner of the Church Talent Festival (CTF)! But did you know that behind the courage of a Reven Bureni (10 years old), he is actually quiet and inferior?
Reven always refused when asked for help to lead prayers and praises at his early Sunday school. His lack of confidence may be because he no longer has a father figure since childhood, lacks motivation from family, and people in the school or living environment who do not support him to develop.
But since he started diligently attending Sunday school at GBI Baun Congregation, Kupang and learned from the Superbook curriculum, his courage began to emerge. Especially when he learned about the story of David defeating Goliath. He remembered that he had been demeaned by his friends and teachers. Reven wants to be like David who can defeat his fears and dare to cultivate his talents!
CTF was a great moment for Reven. Although he had refused, Reven finally dared to perform poems with the support of his Sunday school teacher. Granted, reading poetry was new to him, but he still tried to live up to, practicing the appropriate tones and facial mimics. As a result, he finally became the First Champion of CTF!
This victory made a big difference for Reven and his family. Reven, who used to be demeaned and not regarded by friends and even his school teachers, now they admire and are proud of him. The neighbors who used to be indifferent, now turn out to be friendly and willing to say hello.
Let's re-support the Church Talent Festival held at this time! May more and more children and youth dare to develop their talents and become witnesses of Christ.
