The Worst Accident That Realized Novika Manurung of God’s Power

October 4th, 2021 is an unforgettable day for Novika Manurung. The woman who works as Customer Service in a bank in the city of Medan, North Sumatra, started her morning as usual, going to work with an online motorcycle taxi.
But unexpectedly, a bus hit the motorcycle she was riding in. She was plunged into the car and caused the thigh of her left leg to be severely injured. For Novika, it was the worst accident ever in her life.
The severe condition of her injuries almost made Novika give up. Hope seemed to be dashed and thought that she could no longer be relied on to be the breadwinner of the family. Because she has to work to support her parents who have retired. That’s when she felt sad and disappointed. There was a big question in her mind why did God have to allow the accident to happen to her?
Then she remembered the prayer and counseling service of Sahabat24 that had prayed for her when she was exposed to Covid-19. She found it when she first watched Ziva’s testimony on Superyouth.
Finally Novika was moved to contact Sahabat24 again on October 21st, 2021. It was then that she told her condition and found what she needed, which was to be given strength and prayer support by the counselor.
The 33-year-old woman also began to come to terms with her situation. She realized that God was in control of all the circumstances she was in. Even for the schedule of surgery when she entered the hospital, arranged by God in such a way that her leg could still be helped without having an infection.
Thanks to God’s help, Novika no longer wants to worry too much. During the recovery process she chose to remain rejoicing as stated by the Sahabat24 team, “A happy heart is good medicine.” (Proverbs 17: 22)
God truly proved His inclusion. She was allowed to be discharged from the hospital after undergoing 12 follow up surgeries over 3 months. Through this incident Novika learned to depend entirely on God.
