When he was 4 years old, Darrel Oksana Sutanto from Semarang City turned quiet after his father and mother decided to divorce.
His sadness was getting unstoppable because the divorce of his parents has reached the stage of the Religious Courts. Darrel was very sad to see how tired his mother during the process. Because his father no longer supports them, Darrell's mother has to work and also commute to court to take care of the trial.
“I feel sorry for my mother who has to work and go back and forth to court. My father didn't give my mother any money at that time so my mother worked really hard to support us,' Darrel said.
Darrel still saw his mother going to church and faithfully prayed for his father. He could only pray and cry silently. The court's decision arrived, but how happy Darrell was when he found out that the court had rejected his father and mother's divorce proposal.
Even though the condition of his father and mother made Darrell sad, but he was successfully processed by God through the Superbook 'The Greatest Love' which he witnessed during Sunday School at Isa Almasih Genuk Indah Church. Even then he was willing to forgive and faithfully prayed for his father.
“I forgive my father because the Lord Jesus also forgives sinners. From the film of Superbook, ‘The Greatest Love’, I learned that we must forgive,” he explained.
At the age of eight, Darrell felt how God completely changed his father. He told me that his father had been diligent in serving in the church. Through the story of Jesus' forgiveness, Darrell not only learned to forgive but he also changed from being quiet, inferior, afraid and angry to be a brave person.
Darrell's courage to share this story is the fruit of the changes he has experienced. He became one of the participants of the Super Paskah challenge in the last April 2022.
