Psalm 27:4

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.

“Benignity” in Greek is chrestotes, and in Latin it is benignitas. Benignity or mercy of God is His gift for us which we don’t deserve. God’s mercy doesn’t look at what you have done. Why? It’s because, even though you are sinful, God has given you His life. When you have mercy upon someone else, it’s not based on what he/she has done for you. If Jesus becomes your example, then you should have mercy upon other people. When they hurt you, would you still have mercy upon them?

Chrestotes means kindness and tolerance toward others. When your heart flares up and says, “what is God’s mercy because I haven’t received it yet?” Romans 2:4 says, “Or despise you the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?”

This scripture reminds us to count God’s mercy. One of His mercies is when you can breathe up to today. Do not ever underestimate it when you can breathe freely today. That you are saved from deadly accident, that’s one of His mercies as well. Indeed, that you can stand in your faith now, it’s because of His mercy.

Psalm 94:17-18

Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. When I said, My foot slips; your mercy, O LORD, held me up.

 

Behold and inquire every kindness from God, and give Him praise.
